BARBERX IS PROUD TO BE REUZEL’S FIRST “REUZEL CERTIFIED” BARBERSHOP
About Reuzel
LEEN & BERTUS
Leen and Bertus (he prefers ‘Rob’), the creators of Reuzel (Pronounced ’roo-’zel) started learning mens haircutting when they were just fourteen years old. With their love of classic barbering and the influences of rock n’ roll, kustom kulture and its sub cultures, it was inevitable that one day the pair would open “Schorem Haarsnijder en Barbier.”
ABOUT SCHOREM HAARSNIJDER EN BARBIER AND CLASSIC BARBERING.
Schorem is an old school men-only barbershop in the heart of the working class city of Rotterdam in Holland. The shop specialises in traditional, classic and signature haircuts, as well as, hot towel straight razor shaves. Schorem is trying to preserve a vanishing craft from a lost era of time.
Schorem is a bit of a wordplay that gets lost in translation, it means “scumbags”, “bad boys” in Dutch, but it is also the past tense form of “I shave him”, literally meaning “I shaved him”. The “Haarsnijder en Barbier” means Haircutter and Barber in Dutch.
“Classic barbering is beyond a profession, beyond a skill, beyond a craft. It’s a mission, a calling—a commitment to provide nothing but the very best pomps, quiffs, flat tops, fades and razor shaves on the planet. Period.”
Since it’s opening, Schorem has been frequented by greasers, rockers, bikers, psychobillys, ruffians and other fine gentleman scumbags from every echelon of society. With more than fifty years of barbering and grooming experience these Rotterdam barbers have now formulated pomades worthy of their exacting standards. As old school barbers they dug deep into the history of pomades to formulate what is believed to be the world’s finest… Reuzel.
FLASH FORWARD
Cut to the present day. Leen and Bertus have their name on a school and they have their own line of products, too. Reuzel is here to make sure that as styles change, the attitude remains the same.

OUR BARBERS ATTEND REUZEL-AFFILIATED BARBERING SCHOOL IN THE NETHERLANDS
Brady and Anya (the tall guy in the back row and Anya to his left) were our first barbers to attend. Johnathan and others have also had the opportunity of a lifetime thanks to our relationship with the Reuzel family. As new barbers achieve their personal goals at BarberX they are afforded this opportunity with paid airfare and subsidized housing and education.
BarberX continues to strive to meet the standards our collogues at Reuzel set every day. Including the crazy stuff sometimes.
